About Me

Hello and welcome!

I started this blog initially to document my travels, but over time, I've added personal milestones and reflections. Hence, it's a space for me to tell my story. Generally-speaking, I have simple needs, and I try not to take (my) life too seriously (it is courageous to be able to laugh at oneself i.m.o.). I have never been a big fan of the high life or the expensive brands. The pursuit of happiness is not all about a big bank account or a fancy status in my books. I like to indulge in mostly non-financial pleasures like a classic novel or movie, a beautiful garden, a long and deep conversation, lively, world music and dance, a child's laughter, nature's splendor, the warmth of a big hug, the company of good friends, and the peace within a church. However, I'm also a realist, and I'm aware that there are some fun things that money can buy -- such as a yacht, a single-engine Cessna, a private farm, tasty eats, and travels.

Some hard and dry facts about me: I am a Chinese-American Generation X-er currently living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism-Advertising from the University of Kentucky in the U.S. and a Master of Business Administration (Corporate Strategy & Economic Policy) degree from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. I have previously worked in marketing and business development in the air cargo, media, and advertising industries; presently, I teach English at a private language institution in Cambodia's capital.

I also use this blog to give thanks, praise, and glory to God for He is the source of my love, strength, inspiration, wisdom, hope, joy, and peace. For me, everything is secondary to the two greatest commandments as taught by our Lord Jesus Christ, which is to first and foremost love God with all my heart, soul, and mind and second to love others as I do myself. Admittedly, I sometimes do struggle with the second commandment as I am only human. I realized that all problems in life are simply opportunities for personal growth and sanctification. When in doubt, I turn to God in humility. I am so thankful for His blessings and mercies. Without Him, I will not be where I am today.

I hope you enjoy this blog and thank you for walking with me!

Next time you come to Portugal, send me an email. I will be glad to invite you for a dinner with my wife. I will show you a little more about Portuguese food. Now, I am going to look at your blog with more detail. Have a good life!
