The Camino Reflection I Promised You — Twelve Years Late

Twelve years ago, I walked 874 kilometres across northern Spain: the Camino de Santiago Frances, and then the Camino Fisterra all the way to the end of the known world before Columbus changed the map. When I got home, I promised myself — and some of you — a reflection on what the Camino had done to me. Life happened. The reflection never came. And then, less than a year after the Camino, I moved to Cambodia, and the Camino quietly faded into the background of life in a foreign land. Until now. I finally sat down and made the video I've been owing you - and myself - for twelve years. It's not a travelogue of what happened on the road. It's about what the Camino actually changed in me, why I think it led directly to my move to Cambodia, and what I'm still carrying from it today. If you've been following this blog for a while, you'll recognize some of the stories. If you're new here and found this page searching for Camino content - welcome. I think you'll find something in this video worth sitting with, whether you've walked the Camino or are still dreaming about it.

I'd love to know: what has your Camino - or your own long journey - taught you about what to hold on to and what to let go of? Leave a comment below. Ultreia.
🙏
