Camino de Santiago: Day 11 - Logrono to Ventosa (June 24, 2014)

Today's walk was for the most part uninspiring - some parts of the trail were dirty and unkempt and some parts were next to a highway. The only good thing about today was the overcast weather and the cool breeze ~ I really appreciated not walking under the glaring hot sun. Ventosa was a relatively easy 19 km (11.8 miles) walk from Logrono. Leaving Logrono at 6 am (after a light breakfast at the albergue), it took me 5 hr 15 min, with a brief rest at Navarrete, to arrive at Ventosa at 11:15 am.

I waited ~2 hours at a bar-cafe in Ventosa until 1 pm when the Albergue San Saturnino opened. The albergue is tastefully decorated with a peaceful courtyard in the back of the house. It feels great to relax and catch up on things here.
