I had an easy day today, waking up later than usual at 7 am and starting my walk at 8:10 am after breakfast at the albergue restaurant. I caught the morning's "Running of the Bulls" on TV (the second day of the San Fermin festival in Pamplona) and couldn't help but chuckle at the men who run with the bulls ~ they reminded me of little boys at play.
The Camino's gift to me today was the sunflower fields. I loved how every one of them faced the rising sun. I walked for about 3 hours (a short distance of 14 km or 8.7 miles) and arrived in Sahagun at 11 am right when the Albergue Municipal "La Trinidad" opened so I checked in at the old church. After a self-made pasta lunch at the albergue, I headed out to see some of Sahagun's famous monuments.
Well, adios for now and until tomorrow, peace from your contented pilgrim.

Above: Inside the Albergue Municipal "La Trinidad" in Sahagun (5 euros a night and very basic - not enough power outlets in the building and unstable water temperatures (very hot or cold) in the showers); I wished I had stayed at the Albergue Monasterio de Santa Cruz on the other side of town (I didn't review my lodging list beforehand and simply checked into the first albergue I saw upon arrival in Sahagun) ~ oh well, live and learn
